The memorial will include:

  • Tributes to all the branches of the service
  • An Honor Roll of the Fallen
  • A listing of the conflicts in which veterans have served
  • Recognition of the veterans groups of Saunders County

The design of the memorial is still in the planning stages.  There are many ideas that are being taken into account and other memorials are being studied.  The main goal is to create a peaceful dignified place, worthy of our honored veterans.  Tentatively, the design of the memorial will include parts of the following:

  • Full-sized statutes representing the service branches
  • Granite memorials
  • Memorial benches
  • Service flags
  • More to be determined

Our Story

This is a county-wide memorial.  Funds are being raised from the 15 veterans' organizations in Saunders County and from the general public.  Donors will be recognized in the memorial.  All donations are tax-deductible.  Donations of any amount are welcomed and appreciated.  We are going to need a lot of help if we are to succeed at showing our pride in Saunders County while honoring our veterans now and in the future.
